Subject: Guatemala tubermoth (Tecia solanivora) outbreak in Colombia

This year's intense summer weather in Colombia has lead to an outbreak of the Guatemala tuber moth, Tecia solanivora , in the department of NariƱo, affecting ca. 40,000 ha of potatoes. A spokesperson of the organization Fedepapa pointed out the possibility that other vegetable crops may become infested as well.
