Subject: Pathogen responsible for sudden oak death found in huckleberry bushes in CA

The pathogen responsible for sudden oak death in California (Phytophthora sp.), has recently been found infecting huckleberry bushes in Marin County, CA. This is the second report of the sudden oak death pathogen in a host other than oak. Rhododendron, in the same family as huckleberry, was found infected previously.
