Report:

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) initially identified Anthonomus rubi (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) in samples of raspberry flower buds collected on a residential property near Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. Since then, the CFIA has confirmed that the pest is established in wild and unmanaged hosts in many municipalities of the Fraser Valley and metro Vancouver, British Columbia. Evaluation of the impact of the pest on commercial production of host species is underway.

In Europe, A. rubi is a serious pest of Fragaria, and Rubus and has been reported in association with Rosa. Females lay eggs inside unopened flower buds before severing the stalk.

The CFIA is assessing the level of economic and environmental risk that this pest poses to Canada and will determine if any further action is required.

Following IPPC principles and standards, the pest status of  A. rubi in Canada is: Present: only in some areas.

Rapport: 

L’Agence canadienne d’inspection des aliments (ACIA) a initialement identifié Anthonomus rubi (Coleoptera : Curculionidae) dans des échantillons de bourgeons floraux de framboisiers prélevés sur une propriété résidentielle près d’Abbotsford, en Colombie-Britannique, au Canada. Depuis, l’ACIA a confirmé que l’organisme nuisible est établi dans des hôtes sauvages et non contrôlés dans de nombreuses municipalités de la vallée du Fraser et de la région métropolitaine de Vancouver en Colombie-Britannique. L’évaluation de l’impact de l’insecte nuisible sur la production commerciale d’espèces hôtes est en cours.

En Europe, A. rubi est un organisme nuisible grave s’attaquant aux plants de Fragaria et de Rubus, et a été signalé en association avec la plante hôte Rosa. Les femelles pondent des œufs à l’intérieur des bourgeons floraux non ouverts avant de sectionner la tige.

L’ACIA évalue actuellement le niveau de risque économique et environnemental que cet organisme nuisible représente pour le Canada et déterminera si des mesures supplémentaires sont requises.

Conformément aux principes et aux normes de la CIPV, la situation de l’organisme nuisible A. rubi au Canada est: Présent: seulement dans certaines zones.
