Report:

The transitory entry of Bactrocera scutellata (Hendel) registered on February 2 of this year in Manzanillo, Colima, has been eradicated since September 29, 2018 under the framework of the “Action plan for Bactrocera scutellata (Hendel) at the national level (March 2018)” and based on the International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures 8 and 9.

The National Service for Agri-Food Health, Safety and Quality, through the Plant Health Directorate, applied the phytosanitary measures which led to the eradication of the pest, such as outbreak delimitation, trap setting and checking, setting devices for the male annihilation technique, application of selective Spinosad bait sprays. Based on this and according to the International Plant Protection Convention standards, Bactrocera scutellata (Hendel) is considered to be a pest that is absent: eradicated from Mexico.
