Report:

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has completed its 2009 national survey for Phytophthora ramorum.

Approximately 7,900 samples were taken at 243 sites of 174 plant nursery companies located throughout Canada. The pathogen was detected on plants at three nurseries, two retail and one wholesale in the urban area of Greater Vancouver, British Columbia. Plant destruction actions and soil testing have been completed at all sites and further sampling is being conducted to verify that eradications have been successful.
