Report:
As part of the activities conducted by the National System for Phytosanitary Epidemiological Surveillance in Mexico, some plants of Mexican lemon were detected with citrus canker (X. citri) on non-commercial urban areas. They were found in foliage in the following residential areas: Las Torres; Miguel Hidalgo; Santa Cruz and Riveras Rancho Grande in the municipality of Reynosa and in the areas of common lands: Ampliación de La Loma and Vergeles in the municipality of San Fernando, state of Tamaulipas.
The National Service for Agri-Food Health, Safety, and Quality, through the Plant Health Directorate, has started these phytosanitary actions: delimitation and eradication. Based on this and according to the International Plant Protection Convention standards, X. citri is considered a quarantine pest, transient, and under eradication in Mexico.
