The first occurrence of tomato yellow leaf curl begomovirus - Israel in the Bahamas was reported recently. Infected tomato crops were found on the island of North Andros in 1996, and on the island of Eleuthera in 1997. Tomato yellow leaf curl begomovirus is an EPPO A2 quarantine pest, and causes stunting, curling and marginal chlorosis of leaves, and reduction in fruit number.
